“Our super power is to be able to look across many sources, understand millions of unstructured data points and present to our customers simple intelligence on how they should optimize their inventory and materials procurement,” explains Paul J. Noble, founder and CEO of Verusen.
While materials data is not as uber-sensitive as personal data can be per se, Noble notes it is of course still very important to these enterprises, and therefore, must be appropriately insured.
“As we grow and predict things over time, we become more of an integral part of our customers’ planning processes, which inherently opens us up to more risk,” says Noble. “We have to protect both ourselves and customers from things that can happen in dealing with data. Our customers expect us to have this layer of protection in order to support their global operations.”
A Speedier Commercial Insurance Renewal Process
Because of the complex nature of Verusen’s business, the task of updating and renewing its commercial insurance needs seemed quite daunting to Noble, who was unsatisfied with his previous provider. The legacy insurance provider’s user experience was both cumbersome and time-consuming.
“Working with our traditional provider was just really confusing. I wasn’t sure who to call when I had a question or which policy covered what. The online experience wasn’t great. I don’t think we should have to spend so much time to simply update our policies. When I was able to start working with Layr, it was a breath of fresh air!” says Noble, who made the switch to Layr in 2017.
From a streamlined and easy-to-use online platform to an approachable customer service team, Layr offers a seamless user experience, whether you are adding insurance, making a change or needing proof of insurance. “The tools they provide make it super simple to update and renew our policies. Whenever we have a question, they answer it quickly and it’s an easy process to make changes. To be able to lean on them as a partner is of huge value,” Noble says.
“Our goal is always to simplify the business insurance process through Layr’s online platform and own AI while offering stellar human customer service when it’s needed. Some policies, like Verusen’s, are more intricate than others, and we are happy to discuss our customers’ custom requirements or field any questions one-on-one as needed,” says Phillip Naples, CEO of Layr.
More Sensible Business Insurance Under Proper Guidance
Layr’s technology first reviewed Verusen’s customer commercial insurance requirements based on its company profile. Next, together, Layr and Verusen teams discussed both what protection Verusen needed and what would be possible to push back on.
“Huge companies like our customers have a lot of requirements. It was helpful to be able to lean on the team at Layr to help with the level of insurance we needed to be totally covered but also to avoid being over-covered,” says Noble. “For example, we don’t need 10-million dollars of coverage in errors and omissions per incident!”
“Layr makes it incredibly easy to know we are covered and to generate trusted proof of insurance for our enterprise customers,” Noble adds.
Verusen now maintains business owner’s, general and professional liability, tech E&O and cyber liability insurance policies through Layr. “I always dreaded the business insurance process, and now I don’t,” says Noble. “I highly recommend Layr whenever I can!”
