Meet our founder

After spending over 15 years as a traditional insurance broker, Phillip noticed a glaring problem: Small businesses weren’t getting the coverage they needed because of systemic challenges within the insurance industry.

Considering that there are over 30 million small businesses in the US, he saw an opportunity to support the “backbone of the American economy” by helping brokers make small business insurance modern, efficient, and profitable with technology.

Layr was founded to bring small business insurance into the 21st century.
